The Stiftung Reinbeckhallen is pleased to host the book launch of Florian Reischauer’s Pieces of Berlin 2019—2023, the third in a series of books offering great insight into Berlin and its residents, and to present an exhibition of his photographs in its Project Room.
For the past 15 years, Reischauer has been using his camera to write urban history. In his long-term, demographic project, Pieces of Berlin (http://piecesofberlin.com), Reischauer not only focusses on Berliners and their everyday lives, but also on the profound architectural changes taking place in Germany’s capital. He does so by photographing its streets and the people he encounters on them. He also interviews his subjects, people from all social classes and the most diverse corners of the city, at once giving them a voice and taking them out of urban anonymity.
The book launch and exhibition opening will take place on November 23rd from 6 PM until 10 PM. Florian Reischauer (b. 1985 in Austria), an artist and photographer who has lived and worked in Berlin since 2007, will be present.
