Brigitta Bogenschütz completed an apprenticeship in graphic and textile design in the early 1970s before moving to Paris, where she met J.C. Argüello and began a creative collaboration that would last for over four decades.
The artistic duo, known as A+B, moved in avant-garde circles and met many artists who would become household names in fashion and the art world. They created exclusive designs for renowned haute couture houses in France and Italy, including Dior, Balmain and Ratti, and worked alongside designers at Chloé, Versace, Thierry Mugler and Issey Miyake.
In 1976, the duo moved to the Côte d’Azur, where they began a 25-year exclusive collaboration with the fashion house Chacok. With their unique textile illustrations and extraordinary colour compositions, they contributed to its international success. Their jewellery and scarf collections during this period were sought after by clients in Europe, the USA and Asia, especially in Japan. With the advent of digital printing in the early 2000s, a new era began for A+B: in collaboration with Achille Pinto/Franco Ferrari, they founded their own label, BLOSSOM-GARDEN.
Bogenschütz also devoted herself to her own artistic projects, making watercolours, collages and sculptures. A selection of these works will be presented alongside her designs for BLOSSOM-GARDEN as well as the above-mentioned fashion houses in the Project Room, offering insight into the work of one of Germany’s most creative designers.
