Holiday Workshop

Schreibwelten I

Unraveling and Designing Typefaces

In this holiday workshop, we will experiment with a wide variety of writing and printing techniques, ranging from the typewriter to letterpress printing. We will design typeface images and make the letters dance using the stop-motion technique. In addition, a trip to the Museum für Druckkunst Leipzig will allow us to see for ourselves the key developments in printing over the past 550 years.

The workshop will run from 10 AM until 3 PM, starting in the Werkstatt Neue Drucke at the Reinbeckhallen. On Wednesday, July 26th, we will meet at the Reinbeckhallen at 8 AM and then make our way to Leipzig. Delicious lunches, drinks, and snacks will be provided every day, so participants will be well nourished and can focus on being creative!

On Friday, July 28th, participants will present their work in the Project Room of the Stiftung Reinbeckhallen starting at 1 PM.
