Since opening its doors in 2017, the Stiftung Reinbeckhallen has been showing and collecting the work of East German photographers. Often asked what works can be found in the collection, the Stiftung has decided to once again exhibit a selection of its black and white vintage photographs in the Project Room. Taken between the early 1960s and late 1980s in East Berlin and Leipzig, these photographs, many of which have never been shown at the Reinbeckhallen before, give insight into everyday life and the diverse photographic practices that developed in the GDR.
The exhibition includes works by Sibylle Bergemann, Christian Borchert, Ulrich Burchert, Jürgen Graetz, Harald Hauswald, Detlev Steinberg, and Ulrich Wüst.
