Salon RBH

Gallery Weekend at the Reinbeckhallen Areal

The diversity of a city should also be reflected in the local landscape of the art scene. The Reinbeckhallen have been opened in 2017 with the aim of creating a place where artists and creative people can settle, exchange ideas as well as form a network to establish Oberschöneweide as a cultural location. Today, the Reinbeckhallen and the neighbouring grounds are home to a conglomerate of artists, cultural workers, non-profit organisations, workshops, and galleries. With the exhibition Salon RBH the Stiftung Reinbeckhallen and the gallery Bode Projects, which is based at Reinbeckhallen, take up the multifaceted production and exhibition site of the Reinbeckhallen to present during Gallery Weekend Berlin what this cultural location can stand for.

The Stiftung Reinbeckhallen, in cooperation with the HTW Berlin, presents Cinemiracle – Experimentelle Kurzfilme, 7 short films by students of the department of Communication Design. The short films will be shown in the lounge of the exhibition hall. A small selection of photographic editions by the artists Kurt Buchwald, Andreas Rost and Werner Zellien completes the Stiftungs´s presence in the Salon RBH.

Bode Projects presents the exhibition Salon RBH which is essentially defined by creative aspects. Therefore, rather than dealing with a specific topic the exhibition provides an insight into the different works of the participating artists such as Patrick Alston, Darin Cooper, Ryan Cosbert, Mira Dancy, Dana James, Alteronce Gumby, Riley Holloway, Miguel Machado, Hasani Sahlehe and Chris Watts.

In additon to Salon RBH the Stiftung Reinbeckhallen shows the solo exhibition TOWARDS ABSTRACTION by Nils Ohlsen in the project room. Nils Ohlsen has spent the last two decades painting his surroundings and experimenting with colour, materials, formats, and media. As this exhibition will show, he has also explored different modes of representation, moving closer and closer towards abstraction.
